Conference of California Bar Associations (CCBA)

The Conference of California Bar Associations (CCBA) is a statewide organization of attorneys representing more than 30 metropolitan, regional and specialty bar associations dedicated to the development of creative, non-partisan solutions to law-related issues. I am privileged to serve as the CCBA’s Legislative Representative.

The CCBA’s mission is to serve justice in California by bringing together attorney volunteers from across the State representing diverse backgrounds, experience, and expertise to develop, debate, and promote proposed changes to the statutes, rules of court, and other laws governing California. The proposals developed by the various member bar associations are reviewed and vetted through the year, then are considered by the full Conference at its annual meeting in September or October.  Resolutions approved by the full Conference are presented to the Legislature and Judicial Council for consideration as legislation or rules of court.  In each of the past few years, as many as 28 resolutions have been included in legislative bills.  Since 2010, more than 122 of those bills have been signed into law, including over 144 resolutions.
